03-22-1937 Minutes120 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. -- ------ ------------ COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINAp KANSAS. MARCH 22p 1937. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 22 1937. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll w as called and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface and City Attorney Norris responded, The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 15, 1937, were read and approved as read. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to projects to be sponsored by the City of Salina under the Works Progress Administration and designating a sponsor's agent and ratifying the acts of such agent." On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the resolationwas read. and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgen- stern and Surface (5) Nays: TO) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 684. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 30, Resolution Book Number 3* The following commmidation relating to the extension of water mains was received from the Waterworks Advisory Board: A special meeting of the Waterworks Advisory Board was held in the City Manager's office at 12,00 P.M. March 16, 1937 with the following members present: Roy F. Bailey, Chairman, Chas. W. Shaver, Leon Stevenson, Ray Gebhart, Fred Kastner, E. Wo Hopkins, City Engineer and H. L. Brown Secretary. The meeting w as called for the purpose of considering the extension of water mains.* Especial- ly, extensions in the streets for which petition had already been received. After due consideration and on motion of Mr. Kastner the following water main extensions were recommended, providing all labor could be secured through W. Po A. A 6 main on Hancock St. Crawford to Republic A 6" main on Custer St. Franklin to Wilson A 6" main on Sherman St. Crawford to Franklin A 6" main on Eleventh St. Frost to Republic A 611 main on Ellsworth St. Pershing to Funston A 6" main on Beloit., Highland Circle to Funston A 6" main on Antrim Ninth to Tenth A 6" main on Merrill, Craw ford to Republic Also that an 8" main be run north from Front and North Streets to Pacific and a 61' main east in North Street to Arthur and a smaller main run north in Arthur to Lincoln, and east in Lincoln one block. The size of this main to be left to the City Engineer. This motion was seconded by Mr, -teven- son and the vote taken was unanimous. No further business appearing, the meeting adjourned. WATERWORKS ADVISORY BOARD Byp H. L. Brown Secretary* Commissioner Surface moved that recommendation be approved by the Board of Commissioners. H. Nelson, d/b/a Irish Tavern, 124 S. Fifth Commissioner Surface moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. 14otion adopted. Application for license to operate a Fool Hall was received from W. V. Emmons, d/b/a Station Smoker at 717 Bishop Street, Commissioner Surface moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners.
