02-01-1937 Minutes107 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. f COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALTNA, KANSAS. F14BRUARY 1, 1937. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 1, 1937. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was called and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 252 1937; January 27, 1937 and January 30, 1937, were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak- ing an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Tiorgenstern the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final. adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: t0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4717. The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund was presented for payment: i Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk, Cash paid out for labor ",$213.01. Commissioner Surface moved that claim be approved by the Board of Commissioners. I"otion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of a certain claim.` On motion of Commissioner Surface the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordihande and it is numbered 4718. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 4 and 5 of Ordinance Number 3802 entitled ',I'An ordinance relating to and regulating the business of buying, selling, storing and collecting and otherwise dealing in junk as herein defined, classifying junk dealers, providing for and requiring licenses therefor, providing penalties for the violation of this ordinance and repealing ordinance Number 2071 relating to junk dealers" and repealing said original sections 4 and 5 of said ordinance and adding an additional section thereto." On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and i adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4719. v'\Orville Lloyd appeared before the Board of Commissioners and asked the Board of Commissioners to reconsider his application for taxicab drivers license which was rejected on January 18, 1937. On motion of Commissioner Jackson application was approved and license issued. Motion adopted. ti A. H. Brockman and David Ritchie his attorney, appeared be- fore the Board of Commissioners and requested the reconsideration of his application for Class "A" Beverage Dealers License which was re- jected on January 18, 1937. Commissioner Morgenstern moved that action be reconsidered and that license be issued as applied for. Motion carried. Fishen I i , Commissioner Morgenstern moved that applications be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Applications for license to sell malt and cereal beverages in the City of Salina, Kansas, received as follows: WHOLESALE MALT 6c ChREAL BEVERAGE DEALERS LICENSE VSalina Coca Cola Bottling Corporation, 615 Bishop Street "'Miller Provision w Cold Storage Co. 350 N. Fifth Street J. E. Hull, 350 North Fifth Street Commissioner Surface moved that applications be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. RETAIL CLASS "A," Mi' ij &. CEREAL BEVERAGE DEALERS LICENSE "'Old Dutch Mill, 901 North Santa Fe Avenue ,�Man.hattan Cafe, 118 Wiest Iron Avenue. Commissioner :,:orgenstern moved that applications be ap- proved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. RETAIL CLASS "B" MALT & CEREAL BEVERAGE DEALERS LICENSE Paul's Cafe, 136 North Santa Fe Avenue Commissioner Jackson moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Surface the Board of Commission- ers adjourned to meet in regular session Thursday, February 4, 1937 at 4:30 P. M. 21'�- City Clerk
