01-04-1937 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS F'RuCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JANUARY 4, 1937. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 4, 1937. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Surface, the roll was called and Commissioners Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 22, 1936 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Peters and Jackson absent. Acting Mayor S urface approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4711. The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund was presented for payment: Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk, Cash paid out for labor $296.80 Commissioner Mitchell moved that claim be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Jackson and Peters absent. Acting Mayor Surface approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4712. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance apro- priating and transferring certain moneys from the General Fund Ud- ministration &c Finance Department) to certain other funds or accounts in the City Treasury. On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following Mote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Mitchell and Surface (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Jackson and Peters absent. Acting Mayor Surface approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4713. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution providing for the abandonment of certain condemnation proceedings." Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Application for taxicab drivers license received from: Vim. R. Cox Ernest K. Rowson �0. F. Tweedy ;Clarence Rowsin Fred Kessler John Gottberg. Commissioner Morgenstern moved that applications be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Applications for license to sell malt and cereal beverages in the City of Salina received as follows: WHOLESALE MALT & CEREAL BEVERAGE DEALERS LICENSE Dr. Pepper Bottling Company, 216 N. Santa Fe Avenue Commissioner Morgenstern moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
