COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING,
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
NOVEMBER 23, 1936.
Special meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 23,
1936. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was
called and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and Morgenstern and
City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Surface absent.
Meeting was held for the purpose of acting on appraisers
report for the curbing and guttering of:
Kansas Avenue from Elm Street to a point 500 feet north
of Elm Street;
Sheridan Street from Crawford Avenue to Republic Avenue.
The appraisers report for the curbing and guttering of
Kansas Avenue from Elm Street to a point 500 feet north of Elm Street
was taken up and read as follows:

We, John Frederick, E. D. Martin and L. W. Carl, being
duly and severally sworn according to law, each for himself, does
hereby solemnly swear that he is disinterested in anyo f the
property liable to special ass essment for the cost of curbing and
guttering Kansas Avenue from Elm Street to a point 500 feet north
of Elm Street as more particularly described and provided for in
Ordinance No. 4573 of the City of Salina, Kansas, and that each of
us will to the best of our judgment and ability make a true and im-
pArtial appraisement of all the lots and pieces of ground abutting
on such street as above mentioned, without regard to the buildings
of improvements thereon, for the distance improved as set forth and
designated by the Board of Commissioners in the ordinance above men-
tioned. So help us God.

Commissioner Morgenstern moved that the appraisers report
for the curbing and guttering of Kansas Avenue from Elm Street to a
point 500 feet north of Elm Street be adopted as read. Motion adopted.
The appraisers report for the curbing and guttering of
Sheridan Street from Crawford Avenue to Republic Avenue was taken up
and read as follows:

The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 16, 1936
were read and approved as read.
Notice of cancellation of Automobile Public Liability
and Property Damage Policy No. M-893 issued to Roy Hurston, d/b/a
Harlem Taxi Company by the Manhattan Mutual Automobile Casualty
Company, Inc. was received. City Clerk was instructed to notify
Roy Hurston of such cancellation.
AP lication for taxicab license received from Ralph W.
Johnson, d/b%a Bell Taxi Company, and on motion of Commissioner Jackson
same was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
"Loved by Commissioner Morgenstern that the bond of H. N.
Lamme as City Engineer be cancelled as of November 15, 1936s the date
his resignation became effective, and that he and his surety be re-
leased from all liability under said bond accruing after said date.

On motion of Commissioner Jackson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
