NOVEMBER 16, 1936. i Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 160 1936• Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was called and Commissioners Peters, Jackson and Mitchell and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioners Morgenstern and Surface absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 9, 1936s were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims.s On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson and Mitchell (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Morgenstern and Surface absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4696. The following claims to be paid from Relief Highway Fund were presented for payment: The Texas Company, Paving Filler & Cement $617.02 Chas.E.Banker, City Clerk Cash paid out for labor 271.64 Putnam Sand & Bldg. Company Sand 39.72 928.38 Commissioner Jackson moved that the above claims be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson and Mitchell (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Morgenstern and Surface absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4697. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Oakdale Avenue from the north line of Elm Street thence north 550 feet to the north line of Lot 1, Block 1, Riverside Park Addition extended west." On motion of Commissioner Jackson the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follow - Ing vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson and Mitchell (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Morgenstern and Surface absent. Mayor approved the reso- lution and it is numbered 673. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 19, kesolu- tion Book Number 3. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Connecti- cut Avenue from the north line of Iron Avenue to the south line of -- Johnstown Avenue .% On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson and Mitchell (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Morgenstern and Surface absent. Mayor approved the reso- lution and it is numbered 674. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 20, Resolu- tion Book Number 3. Applications for taxicab drivers license received from: Ralph W. Johnson Avalon Thomas. Commissioner Jackson moved that the above applications be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. The appraisers reports for the curbing and guttering of: 11 11 1 Sheridan Street from Crawford Avenue to Republic Avenue; and Kansas Avenue from Elm Street to a point 500 feet north of Elm Street, were received, and on motion of Commissioner Jackson, Monday, November 23, 1936 at 4:30 P. M. was designated as a Special Meeting at which time the appraisers reports will be taken up and acted on by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City Clerk give notice of such meeting in the official City paper as provided by law. Motion adopted. Commissioner Jackson moved that the City Manager be author- ized to sell the DeWitt property located at 601 Barney, to Mort Skaggs for $40.00. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Jackson the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk 83
