11-02-1936 Minutes78 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. NOVEMBER 2. 1936. Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 2, 1936. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was called and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 26, 1936 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims.* On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4689. The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund was presented for payment: Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk, Cash paid out for labor $327.77 Commissioner Surface moved that the above claim be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. i An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of a certain claim.* i On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4690. An ordinance was introduced entitled: *An ordinance provid- ing for and authorizing the .appropriation of a certain amount from the Paving Fund to the -Waterworks Department Fund to take up and pay certain Temporary N tea issued in payment of certain paving work and which were purchased by and held in the Sinking Fund or Investment Account of the Waterworks Department Fund.* On motion of Commissioner Surface the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgen- stern and Surface (5) Nays: O) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4691. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance providing for and authorizing the appropriation of a certain amount from the Sewer Fund to the Waterworks Department Fund to take up and pay a certain Temporary Note issued in payment of certain sewer work, and which was purchased by -and held in the Sinking Fund or Investment Account of the Waterworks Department Fund.* On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface (5)_ Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4692. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and regulating and providing for the levy and collection of a license tax upon the business, trade or occupation of owning or operating or maintaining certain games, devices and vending machines, and providing a penalty for the violation of this ordinance** On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ages: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgen- stern and Surface (5) Nays; 0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4693. 1 1 1 1 1 Public hearing was held for the following changes in Zoning Ordinance; by placing Lots 5,7,9,11,13,15,17, 16018,19 and 20 in Block 63, Military Addition and Lot 15, Block 46, Military Addition in the "C" Commercial use District and remove the same from the `All Residence use District. There being no objection filed permis- sion was granted and the City Attorney was instructed to draft an ordinance providing for such change in the Zoning Ordinance. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Jackson the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk 79
