COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
OCTOBER 26, 1936.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 26,
1936. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was
called and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and Surface and
City Attorney Norris responded, Commissioner Morgenstern absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 19th, 1936
were read and approved as read.
Offers for the purchase of $112305.50 Internal Improvement
Bonds dated October 20, 1936, Series C-113 placed on sale at this
time, were received from the following:
Brown-Crummer Company
Ranson -Davidson Company
Lathrop -Hawk -Herrick Company
Commissioner Jackson moved that the offer of Lathrop -Hawk -
Herrick Company for the purchase of said bonds at the price of
$1010.00 per $12000.00 plus accrued interest from date of bonds
to date of delivery, being the highest and best offer for said bonds,
be accepted, and that the Mayor be authorized to sign a contract for
the sale of said bonds at such price, and that the certified checks
deposited with the City Clerk by the other bidders be returned to
them. Motion adopted.
A petition was presented asking for the installation of a
street light on the corner of Custer and Illinois Streets. Referred
to the City Manager.
Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages
in the City of Salina received from:
RETAIL CLASS „A" MALT & CEREAL BEVERAGE DEALERS LICRNSF
Mauch's Cafe, 115 South Fifth Street
On motion of Commissioner Jackson application was approved
by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
Application for taxicab drivers license received from:
Roy Hurston
On motion of Commissioner Surface application was approved
by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
A communication from the Chamber of Commerce relative to
two-hour parking was read. Same was ordered filed.
On motion of Commissioner Surface the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
