OCTOBER 190 1936.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 19,
1936. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was
called and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and
Surface responded. City Attorney Norris absent. Acting City
Attorney Jenkins presided at the meeting.

and Regular Meeting of October 16, 1936 were read .and approved as
read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
'*An ordinance providing for and authorizing the issuance of Improvement
Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $11,305.50 to pay
the cost of acquiring by condemnation and appropriation certain lands
for the purpose of opening, widening and extending certain streets in
the City of Salina, Kansas, to be designated as Series C-113.0
On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called)
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell,
Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4686. j
On motion of Commissioner Surface the City Clerk was in-
structed to advertise for the sale of $11,305.50 Improvement Bonds
dated October 20, 1936, bearing interest at the rate of two percent
(2%) per annum, bids to be received up to and including Monday,
October 260 1936 at 4:00 P. M. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: *An ordinance
making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims*%
On motion of Co mmissioner Surface the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell,
Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4687.
The following claims to be paid from Relief Highway Fund were
presented for payment:
Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk Cash paid out for labor $362.45
R. A. Rearwin Cement 119.00
Lieidigh & Havens Cement 51.00
Putnam Sand & Bldg. Co. Sand 30.81
Total - - - - - - -$ 563.26
On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern same were approved by
the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of
certain claims *0
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayess Peters, Jackson, Mitchell,
Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4688.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and gutter-
ing of Oakdale Avenue from the north line of Elm Street north 550
feet to the north line of Lot 21, Block 1, Riverside Park Addition.
Same was referred to the City Manager.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering
of Connecticut Avenue from the north line of Iron Avenue to the south
line of Johnstown Avenue. Same was referred to the City Manager.
Application for taxicab drivers license received as follows:

On motion of Commissioner Surface same were approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.

On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern the appointments were
confirmed by the Board of Commissioners.
City Manager reported favorable on the petitions asking for the
location of street lights at Eleventh and State; Ninth and Washington;
Franklin and Sherman and Ninth and Park. Commissioner Jackson moved
that the report be adopted by the Board of Commissioners. Motion
adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
