COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,

Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 16,
1936. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was
called and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and Surface and
City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Morgenstern absent.
The City Clerk announced that N. E. Spradley, R. H. Cravens
and J. Earl Wyatt, the Commissioners appointed by the Judge of the
District (burt to assess damages and benefits in the matter of the
condemnation and appropriation of lands for the opening, widening
and extending of certain streets in said City to be known as and
used for U. . Highway No, 81 By -Pass and for a connecting link on
U. S. Highway No. 40, filed their report on October 16, 1936 and
said report was presented to the Board of Commissioners by the
City Clerk,
Commissioner Surface moved that negotiable bonds of the
City of Salina be authorized and issued to pay the cost of acquiring
such lands by condemnation in the sum of $11,305.50, for the reason
that it is necessary, and the Board of Commissioners deem it neces-
sary to issue such bonds to pay such cost. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
An ordinance providing for and authorizing the issuance of Improvement
Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $11,305.50 to pay
the cost of acquiring by condemnation and appropriation certain lands
for the purpose of opening, widening and extending certain streets
in the City of Salina, Kansas, to be designated as Series C-113.
Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Surface moved that the City Clerk certify a
copy of the report of said condemnation commissioners, and deposit
certified copy with the City Treasurer, and that when the money
is on deposit with the City Treasurer sufficient to pay the property
owners whose lands have been appropriated in the amount due them
as shown by said Report, that the City Treasurer certify such fact
on the copy of said Report and that the same then to be filed in
the office of the Register of Deeds of Saline county, Kansas, as
required by law. Motion adopted.

On motion of Commissioner Surface the Board of Commission-
ers adjourned.
