07-06-1936 Minutes39 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. i COMMISSIONERS ROOMS SALINA $ KANSAS. i JULY 6s 1936. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 6, 1936. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was called and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Special Meeting of June 29, 1936 and Regular Meeting of June 29, 1936 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Surface the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final aioption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4656. { The following claim to be paid 8&om Relief Highway Fund was presented for payment: Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk, Cash paid out for labor $340.84 Commissioner Jackson moved that claim be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation out of the Relief Highway Pend for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4657. City Engineer submitted Final Estimate to Chicago Bridge and Iron Works for the construction of steel elevated water storage tank under contract dated October 28, 1935. On motion of Commissioner Surface same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopt- ed. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from the Public Works Administration Docket State File No. 1031 Account for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4658. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to license taxes on tent shows." On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll -was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Peters, Jackson, M.Pchell, Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4659. Application for axicab drivers license received as follows. John Stilwell Lyle Turner Harold Frink W. B. MoMickle Commissioner Surface moved that applications from John Stil- well, Harold Frink and Lyle Turner be granted, and that application of W. B. McMickle be rejected. Motion adopted. Application for taxicab license received from W. B. McMickle. Action on same was deferred. Applications for license to sell malt and cereal beverages in the City of Salina received as follows: t 40 Commissioner Surface moved that the above applications be approved by the Board of,Commissioners, Motion adopted. Motion adopted. White Eagle Oil Company asked permission to place a sign pole on the outer edge of sidewalk on Pacific Street, also permission to constru�t a a flood light pole on the parking on East Pacific Street. Commission- er Morgenstern moved that the City abide by the ordinance in the mat- ter of sign, but that permission be granted to construct a flood light pole on Pacific Street subject to the approval of the City Manager. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Surface the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
