06-15-1936 Minutes30 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. _— JUNE 159 1936• Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 15, 1936. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was called and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 8, 1936 and Regular Meeting of June 10, 1936 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Surface the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption .the roll Ms called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgensntern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4654. The following claims to be paid from Relief Highway Fund were presented for payment: Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk Cash paid out for labor $221.10 Putnam Sand & Building Co. Sand 59.08 Leidigh & Havens Lumber Co. Cement 28.00 308.18 Commissioner Surface moved that claims be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of certain claims** On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4655. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution revising and approving an estimate of the project costs of Waterworks Improvements - ob No. 85." On motion of Commissioner Jackson the resolution was adopt- ed as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follow- ing vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is num- bered 663. The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages numbered 384 and 385, Resolution Book Number 2. Application for taxicab drivers license received from Charles Ramey. Commissioner Surface moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Bid for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers received from: H.J.Taylor Construction Company, Salina, Kansas. City Engineers estimate of cost for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers No. 172 and 173 was read. Commissioner Surface moved that bid be rejected on account of being above the City Engineers estimate of cost; and that certified check be returned by the City Clerk to Mr. Taylor; and that the City Engineer be instructed to have the work done within estimate. Motion adopted. A petition was presented protesting against the location of an auto wrecking business on East Pacific Street. Same was.ordered filed. On motion of Commissioner Surface the Board of Commission- ers adjourned. 9 City Clerk
