COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
MAY 4, 1936.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 4, 1936.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was called and
Commissioners Peters, Jackson,)ditchell and Morgenstern and City Attor-
ney Norris responded. Commissioner -.Surface absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 27, 1936 were
read and approved as read.

A letter from W. H. Marsh congratulating the City Commissioners
in passing ordinances regulating present liquor situation was received
and ordered filed.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell
and Morgenstern (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Surface absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4635.
The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund was
presented for payment:
Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk, Cash paid out for labor $244.52
Commissioner Mitchell moved that claim be approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of a
certain claim.*
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the follow ing vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and
Morgenstern (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Surface absent. Mayor ap-
proved the ordinance and it is numbered 4636.
City Engineer submitted Estimate No. 2 to H. J. Taylor Con-
struction Company for material furnished and labor performed in the
construction of Drainage and Paving Improvements P. W.,A. Docket State
File No. 1050-R, prior to May 1, 1936. Commissioner M rgenstern moved
that same be approved by the Board of Commissioners. -Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation from the Drainage and Paving Improvements Construction
Account Public Works Administration State Me No. Kansas 1050-R Ac-
count for the payment of a certain claim.#
On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and
Morgenstern (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Surface absent. Mayor ap-
proved the ordinance and it is numbered 4637.
City Engineer submitted Estimate Number 2 to Chicago Bridge
and Iron Works for the construction of steel elevated water storage
tank. Commissioner Jackson moved that same be approved by the Board
of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation from the Public Works Administration Docket State File
No. 1031. Account for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and
Morgenstern (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Surface absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4638.
Taxicab Insurance Policy and Taxicab Application received
from A. B. C. Taxi Service and on motion of Commissioner Morgenstern
same was approved by the Board of Commissioners.

Releases were presented from Central Mutual Auto Insurance
I Company asking for the release of Policies numbered 1-47389 and
1-47392 issued to A. B. C. Taxi Service of Salina, Kansas. City Clerk

was instructed to sign said releases.
The matter of rezoning Lots 3 and 4 Block 4, Evergreen Park
Addition was taken up by the Board of Commissioners. There being
no objection to the rezoning of said lots the City Attorney was in-
structed to prepare an ordinance providing for such rezoning. Motion
adopted.
Mayor Peters submitted the names of E. A. McFadden and J. J.
j Sullivan as members of the City Planning Commission for a term of
three years from May lst, 1936. On motion of Commissioner Jackson
appointments were confirmed by the Board of Commissioners.
L. A. Bartlett appeared before the Board of Commissioners
and asked for reinstatement of his taxicab license. On motion the
matter was taken under advisement.
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
