04-27-1936 Minutes8 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. APRIL 27, 1936. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 27, 1936. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was called and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and Surface and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Morgenstern absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 20, 1936 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 12 of Ordinance No. 4295 being an ordi- nance relating to and regulating the selling and dealing in of non - intoxicating cereal beverages, and providing for the licensing thereof and repealing original Section 12 of said ordinance*" On motion of Commissioner Surface the ordinance was read and. adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and Sur- face (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morgenstern absent. Mayor approved i the ordinance and it is numbered 4634. Permission was asked to move building occupied by Cube Steak Inn at 832 North Santa Fe Avenue to Lots 2 and 4 Block 4, Woodland Addition, Commissioner Surface moved that the matter be referred to the City Manager and to the Building Inspector with power to act. Application and taxicab policy received from the A. B. C. Taxi Service. Commissioner Jackson moved that same be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Application for taxicab drivers license was received from Vernon L. Jensen, Commissioner Jackson moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages in the City of Salina received from: RETAIL CLASS "B" MALT & CEREAL BEVERAGE LICENSE i Cleo C. Bryan, 225 North Santa Fe Avenue, I Commissioner Surface moved that application be granted by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. i Mr. J. E. Hull appeared before the Board of Commissioners and asked for refund on Wholesale Beer License issued March 31, 1936. On motion, refund was not granted. Commissioner Mitchell moved that Taxicab Drivers Badge No. 74 issued to George W. Mauch be revoked. Motion adopted. Commissioner Jackson moved that Taxicab License No. 16 issued to L. A. Bartlett be revoked. Motion adopted. The matter of rezoning Lots 3 and 4. Block 4 Evergreen Park Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas was taken up by the Board of Commissioners, and action on same was deferred until Monday, May 4, 1936.
