ORDINANCE NUMBER 87-9176
AN ORDINANCE TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL COOPERATION
AGREEMENT TO ESTABLISH THE KANSAS INTERGOVERNMENTAL RISK
MANAGEMENT AGENCY.
Kansas: BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Section 1. The Governing Body of the City of Salina, finding it to be
in the public interest to exercise its powers under the Kansas Interlocal
Cooperation Act to cooperate with other municipalities to jointly establish and
operate a public risk management service program, does hereby enter into an
interlocal agreement to form and join the Kansas Intergovernmental Risk
Management Agency (KIRMA). It is the intent of the City to become an active
and continuing member of KIRMA, to participate in its development, management
and operation, and to maintain an effective loss prevention and control program,
consistent with the statement of purposes and other provisions of the Agreement.
Section 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to execute the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement, dated February 27,
1987, and published by the League of Kansas Municipalities, to create, jointly
with other municipalities, the Kansas Intergovernmental Risk Management
Agency. The City Clerk shall provide and file copies of this ordinance and the
executed Agreement as required by Article I of the Agreement.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published once in the official city
newspaper.
Passed by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas this 16th
day of March, 1987.
