88-9273 Property Misdemanor Offn -Cox Pry 1i — So1— Kansas 1 �1 U 1 (Published in The Salina Journal August 11, 1988) ORDINANCE NUMBER 88-9273 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SALINA CODE SECTIONS 25-58, 25-60, 25-61, 25-62, AND 25-64 RELATING TO THE MAXIMUM VALUE OF PROPERTY SUBJECT TO ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 25 OF THE SALINA CODE RELATING TO MISDEMEANOR OFFENSES AGAINST PROPERTY, AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTIONS. Kansas: BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Section 1. That Section 25-58 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 25-58. Malicious mischief. It shall be unlawful for any person to willfully and maliciously remove, cut, mar, displace, deface, break, dig up or quarry, injure, damage or destroy the property of another, either public or private which has a value of less than five hundred dollars ($500.00).11 Section 2. That Section 25-60 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 25-60. Theft. It shall be unlawful for any person to steal, take and carry away any money or personal property or effects of another under the value of five hundred dollars ($500.00) ." Section 3. That Section 25-61 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 25-61. Embezzlement. It shall be unlawful for any person to embezzle any money, personal property or effects of another under the value of five hundred dollars ($500.00) ." Section 4. That Section 25-62 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 25-62. False pretenses; obtaining property by. It shall be unlawful for any person with intent to cheat or defraud another, to obtain from any other person any money, property or valuable thing of the value of less than five hundred dollars ($500.00) , by means or by use of any trick or deception, of false, fraudulent representation, or statement or pretense, or by any other means, instrument or device, or by means of any check or by other written or printed or engraved instrument or spurious coin or metal." nnCox arinting —Sabina. Kansas Section 5. That Section 25-64 ofd the Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 25-64. Shoplifting It shall be unlawful for any person to willfully take possession of any goods, wares or merchandise under the value of five hundred dollars ($500.00) offered for sale by any store or other mercantile establishment with the intention of converting the same to his own use without paying the purchase price thereof." Section 6. That the existing Sections 25-58, 25-60, 25-61, 25-62, 25-64 are hereby repealed. Section 7.
