ORDINANCE NUMBER 88-9265
AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING OHIO STREET, CRAWFORD AVENUE,
BROADWAY BOULEVARD, NINTH STREET, AND IRON AVENUE AS MAIN
TRAFFICWAYS PURSUANT TO K.S.A. 12-685.
Kansas:
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Section 1. The primary function of Ohio Street, Crawford Avenue,
Broadway Boulevard, Ninth Street, and Iron Avenue is hereby found to be the
movement of through traffic between areas of concentrated activity within the
city or between such areas within the city and traffic facilities outside the city
performing the function of a major trafficway based upon the following:
A. Ohio Street is a major arterial street running south
from one of the 1-70 interchanges into the City and is
the principal street carrying north/south traffic on the
east side of the city.
B. Crawford Avenue is a major arterial street running east
from one of the 1-135 interchanges into the City and is
the principal street carrying east/west traffic through
the south central portion of the City.
C. Broadway Boulevard is a major arterial street running
south from one of the 1-70 interchanges into the City
and is the principal street carrying north/south traffic
on the west side of the City.
D. Ninth Street is a major arterial street carrying traffic
between the City's central and southern commercial
districts and is the principal street carrying
north/south traffic through the west central portion of
the City.
E. Iron Avenue is a major arterial street carrying traffic
between the City's central and eastern commercial
districts and is the principal street carrying east/west
traffic through the north central portion of the City.
Section 2. That Ohio Street, Crawford Avenue, Broadway Boulevard,
Ninth Street, and Iron Avenue are hereby designated and established as "main
trafficways" pursuant to K.S.A. 12-685.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
