ORDINANCE NUMBER 88-9258
AN ORDINANCE LEVYING SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS AGAINST CERTAIN
PROPERTY TO PAY THE COST OF CONSTRUCTING CERTAIN SIDEWALKS IN
THE PARKING ABUTTING THE FOLLOWING PROPERTY TO -WIT:
A 5 foot concrete sidewalk installed at the curb line on the
south side of Glen Avenue from the east line of Marymount
Road to the west line of Beechwood Road, adjacent to Lots 1
and 8, Block 8, Lots 1 and 8, Block 2, Riker Manor Addition
to the City of Salina, Kansas.
A 5 foot concrete sidewalk installed at the curb line on the
north side of Northwood Lane from the east line of
Beechwood Road to the west line of Fairdale Road, adjacent
to the Meadowlark School Site in Blocks 3 and 4, Riker
Manor Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has, by Resolution Number
87-3897, caused to be notified the owners of the property hereinafter described,
to cause their respective portion of said sidewalks to be constructed at their own
expense and have fulfilled all conditions precedent to the construction of said
sidewalks, and
WHEREAS, the owners of the property hereinafter described did not
within thirty days, as required by Resolution Number 87-3897, cause said
sidewalks to be constructed and the City caused said sidewalks to be constructed
pursuant to K.S.A. Chapter 12, Article 18, and the cost thereof has been
ascertained,
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has determined that the total
cost of such improvements is Four Thousand Seven Hundred Nine and 25/100
Dollars ($4,709.25) and that 24.54% in the amount of One Thousand One Hundred
Fifty-five and 75/100 dollars $1,155.75) be assessed against the improvement
district and 75.46% in the amount of Three Thousand Five Hundred Fifty-three
and 50/100 dollars ($3,553.50) be assessed against the city -at -large, SO NOW,
THEREFORE
Kansas:
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Section 1. That there be and there is hereby levied and assessed
against the lots hereinafter described, an assessment for the purpose of paying
the cost of constructing said sidewalks, taxable against the following described
lots in the amount set opposite said lots:
RIKER MANOR ADDITION
North 80 feet of Lot 8, Block 2 .................. $1,155.75
Section 2. That the owner or owners of the property above described
shall have thirty (30) days after the publication of this ordinance within which
to make full payment.

Section 3. That the City Clerk is directed to mail a notice not less
than fifteen days prior to the end of the thirty (30) days to the owners of the
property as shown on the records of the office of the Register of Deeds.
Section 4. That if full payment of the assessment made in Section 1 of
this ordinance is not made within thirty days after the publication of this
ordinance, the City Clerk is hereby directed and authorized to certify said
assessments to the County Clerk of Saline County, to be placed on the tax roll
for collection in four installments, starting with the year 1988, and subject to
the same penalties and collected in like manner as other taxes.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
