ORDINANCE NUMBER 87-9217
AN ORDINANCE TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL COOPERATION
AGREEMENT TO ESTABLISH THE KANSAS INTERGOVERNMENTAL RISK
MANAGEMENT AGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas,
finding it to be in the public interest to exercise its powers under the Kansas
Interlocal Cooperation Act to cooperate with other municipalities to jointly
establish and operate a public risk management service program and group
funded municipal pool, does hereby enter into an interlocal agreement to form
and join the Kansas Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency (KIRMA). It is
the intent of the City to become an active and continuing member of KIRMA, to
participate in its development, management and operation, and to maintain
effective loss prevention and control program, consistent with the statement of
purposes and other provisions of the Agreement.
Section 2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to execute the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement, dated September 11,
1987, and published by the League of Kansas Municipalities, to create, jointly
with other municipalities, the Kansas Intergovernmental Risk Management
Agency. The City Clerk shall provide and file copies of this ordinance and the
executed Agreement as required by Article 1 of the Agreement.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
