ORDINANCE NUMBER 89-9306
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING, BY REFERENCE, THE 1988 EDITION OF
THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE AND ALL APPENDICES, EXCEPT AS TO PERMIT
AND INSPECTION FEES, AMENDING SECTION 8-36 OF THE SALINA CODE AND
REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 8-36 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"Section 8-36. Uniform Buildina Code adopted.
Section 2. That Section 8-36 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
repealed.
"Section 8-36(a) . Permit fees.
The fee for each permit or inspection required by the
Uniform Building Code, 1988 edition, shall be as set forth in
a fee schedule adopted pursuant to Section 2-2 of the Salina
Code in lieu of the provision specified in Section 304(a) and
(b) of the Uniform Building Code, 1988 edition."
Section 3. That the existing Section 8-36 of the Salina Code is hereby

There is hereby adopted, by reference, by the City for
the purpose of providing minimum standards to safeguard life
or limb, health, property, and public welfare by regulating
and controlling the design, construction, quality of
materials, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of all
buildings and structures within the city and certain
equipment specifically regulated therein, that certain
building code known as the Uniform Building Code of
Building Officials, being particularly the 1988 Edition
thereof, including all appendices thereto, except as modified
by Section 8-36(a) of the Salina Code, of which not fewer
than three (3) copies have been, and now are filed in the
Office of the City Clerk and the same are hereby
incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein and the
provisions thereof shall be controlling in the construction of
all buildings and structures therein contained within the
corporate limits of the City."
Section 2. That Section 8-36 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
