ORDINANCE NUMBER 88-9296
AN ORDINANCE ELECTING THAT THE REVESTMENT OF TITLE ACT
OF THE STATE OF KANSAS SHALL APPLY TO THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. Policy.
That the Kansas Revestment
of Title
Act
(K.S.A. 12-1428 through 12-1441) provides a means for the City
to regain
title
to unclaimed cemetery lots where
no interment has been made in the lot and
title
to the lot has not vested in the
present owner for a period of at
least fifty
(50)
years. K.S.A. 12-1430 provides
that the Revestment of Title Act
shall apply to
such cities as may enact to come
under the act by ordinance.
Section 2. Election to come under act. The Governing Body hereby
elects that the City shall come under the Kansas Revestment of Title Act.
Section 3. Effective date. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption by the Board of Commissioners and publication
once in the official city newspaper.
