09-22-1924 MinutesC0M14ISS IONERS PROCEEDINGS, REEGULAR MEETING. COM14ISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. SEPTEMBER 22nd, 1924. Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, September 22nd, 1924. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett, the roll was called and Commissimners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 15th, 1924 were read and approved as read. An Ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: ''An ordinance repealing Ordinance Number 3028 being an ordinance providing for the re -curbing and guttering of Fifth Street from the south line of Ash Street to the north line of Walnut Street and Ordinance dumber 30293, being an ordinance providing for the repaving of Fifth Street in the City of Salina from the north line of Walnut Street to the south line of Ash Street therein. Commissioner Chambers moved that the ordinance be adopted and approved by the Board of Commissioners on first reading, on account of public emergency, after which the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nzys: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3031. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the re -curbing and guttering of Fifth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south line of-7-sW Str�eet to the north line of Walnut Street in said City, (excepting the intersection of Fifth Street vith Iron Avenue) , and for the excavation of such part of said street and the re- moval of the old curbing and sidewalk as may be necessary to permit such improvements and providing for the re -paving of said Fifth Street from the south line of Ash Street to the north line of Walnut Street in said City, and providing for the cost of such improvements, �ow the same shall be assessed and manner of pay- ment therefor. On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the BoArd of Commissioners. City Manager Layton submitted the name of Chester A. Voiles, as Desk Sergeaht to fill unexpired term of Ernest P. Yockers, who resigned. On motion of Commissioner Chambers the appointment was confirmed. Mayor 11arge tt appointed L. C. Webb as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Memorial Hall, from April 16th, 1924 to April 16th, 1927. On motion of Commissioner Dyar the appointment was con- firmed. On motion of Commissioner Dyar, Board of Commissioners adjourned.
