COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR P,2ETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
SEPTEMBER 8th, 1924.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners September
8th, 1924. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett the roll
was called and Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and wity
Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the regular Meeting of September 1st, 1924 were
read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ord�nanee making
an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
qnd the following vote was had; AyesL Hargett, Dyar and Chambers
(3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3023.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of a certsin claim.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chamb-
ers (3) Nays: (0) The lKayor approved the same and is numbered
3024.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
it ordinance amending Ordinance Number 2800 entitled, "An ordinance
regulating the sale of gasoline upon public streets and thorough-
gares within the fire limits of the City of Salina, Kansas, by
adding a new section to said ordinance to be known as Section
Number 3 of such ordinance, providing a penalty for the violation
of Section One of Ordinance Number 2800.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chamb-
ers (3) Nays: (0) The 14ayor approved the same and is numbered
3025.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitned:
"'An ordinance amending Ordinance l�u'rber 2801 entitled,"An ordim nee
regulating the sale of gasoline from curb filling stations vr1 thin
the fire limits of the City of Salina,"by adding a new section to
said ordinance to be known as Section 5 thereof, providipg for a
penalty for the violation of said Ordinance Number 2801.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: �argett, Dyar and Chamb-
ers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3026.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the re -curbing and guttering of Fifth
Street-, in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south line of—sh
trreet to the north line of V1alnut Street in said City, (excepting
the intersection of Fifth Street with Iron Avenue) and for the
excavation of such part of said Fifth Street and the removal
of the old curbing and sidewalk as may be necessary to permit such
improvements, and providing for the cost of such improvements #ow
the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the City
Manager.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"Aniordinance providing for the repaving of Fifth Street in the City
of Salina, Kansgs from the south line of Ash Street to the north
line of vIalnut treet in said City, and providing for the cost of
such improvements, how the same shall be assessed and manner of
payment therefor.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the

An ordinance as introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing that references to the Mayor and Council-
men or to the Council or to any committee thereof in ordinances -
heretofore adopted, shall be deemed to refer to the Board of
Commissioners, except as otherwise specifically provided, and
providing that duties to be performed by certain officers and
Committees be delegated to and performed by certain other
officers of the City of SAlina.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same Was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
City Manager, Layton, reported favorable on the petition
asking for the location of a Filling Station at the corner of
Ellsworth Avenue and Santa Fe Avenue, same having been approved
by the City Planning Commission.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
