AUGUST 11th, 1924.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 11th,
1924. Meeting was called to order by Acting ayor Dyar, the roll
as called and Commissioners Dyar and Chambers and City Attorney
orris responded. Commissioner Hargett absent.
The minutes of the Regular fleeting of August 4th, 1924 were
read and approved as read.
An Ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance making a special assessment and levy of taxes for
theacutting of weeds on certain lots and parts of lots in the City
of alina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
City Budget for the year 1925 was introduced for second read-
ing as follows:

On motion, all bids were taken under advisement by the
Board of Commissoiners.
The monthly report for the American Red Cross, and the
Americanization Committee were received and high compliments
were given these reports by the Board of Commissioners.
City Manager Layton recommended that August 19th, 19249
be designated as a drive to eliminate the growth of Japanese
Thistles that have grown in the City of Salina.
On motion, same was approved by the Board of Commission-
ers.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
