07-21-1924 Minutes1 1 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR I:'=TING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SAL INA, KANSAS. JULY 21st, 1924. Regular IMeeting of the Board of Commissioners; July 21st, 1924. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett, the roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the regular meeting of July 14th, 1924. were read and approved as read. An Ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak- ing an appropriation for the payment of certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3014. An Ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim. On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on it's final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes; Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the.same and is numbered 3015. A resolution was introduced for first reading providing for the re-laying of pavement on Fifth Street from Ash Street to Walnut Street. On motion, same was referred to the Board of Commission- ers. An appeal was received from the Mayor of Augusta, Kansas, asking for a contribution to aid the stricken citizens of his City. Commissioner Dyar moved that the City Clerk forward a check of 4100.00 to be applied for the relief of the citizens of Augusta, Kansas. Commissioner Dyar moved that 415.00 be appropriated to the Americanization Committee. A resignation form Fred Ziegler, as a member of the City Planning Commission was accepted. Mayor hargett appointed J. R. Payton as a member of City Planning Commission to fill vacancy caused by resignation of Fred Ziegler. On motion of Commissioner Dyar the appointment was con- firmed.
