JUNE 23rd, 1924.
Special T;ieeting of the Board of Commissioners June 23rd, 1924,
for the purpose of hearing any complaints that may be made by
property owners as to the valuation placed on certain lots and
pices of ground on which to base the cost of curbing, guttering,
excavating, grading and paving:
Claflin avenue from Highland Avenue to Ninth Street;
For the excavating and paving of the unpaved portion of
Santa Fe Avenue occupied by the street car tracks from Beloit
venue to Ulaflin Avenue;
For the curibng and guttering of the east side of Ninth
street from Jewell Avenue to Cloud Street.
Mayor Hargett presiding, the roll was called and Comission-
ers Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and City Attorney Norris respond-
ed.
The appraisers report for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Claflin Avenue from Highland Avenue to
inth Street was taken up and read as follows:

and severally sowrn according to law, each for himself does
hereby solemnly swear that he is an owner of real estate in the
City of Salina, Kansas and is disinterested in any of the property
_ liable to special assessment for the cost of curbing, guttering,
excavating, grading and paving Claflin Avenue in the City of
Salina, Kansas from the west line of ighland Avenue to the
east line of Ninth street in said City as more particularly
described and provided for in Ordinance Number 2977 of the City
or Salina; and that each of us will to the best of our judgment
and ability make a true and impartial appraisement of all the
lots and pieces of ground abutting on such respective street as
above described without regard to the buildings or improvements
thereon, for the distance to be improved as set forth ind desig-:
nated b7 the Board of Commissioners in said Ordinance umber 2977
of the City of Salina. So help us God.

eastline of Street be adopted as read. Motion adopted.
The appraisers report for the curbing and guttering of the
east side of Ninth Street from the south line of Jewell Avenue
to the north line of Cloud Street was taken up and read as follows:
