OCTOBER 6th, 1924.
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, October
6th, 1924. Meeting wa-s called to order by Mayor Hargett,
the roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and
Chambers and Acting City Attorney Buziek responded. City
Attorney Norris absent.
The minutes of the Regular meeting of September 29th,
1924, were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance
making an appropriation for the payment of certain elaimd."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll
was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: nargett,
Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The 16yor approved the
same and is numbered 3033.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance
making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the
roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 3034.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance regulating the disposal of drainage waters from
the roofs of certain buildings and the construction of down-
spouts or drain -pipes therefrom."
On motion of Commissioners Dyar the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll
was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett,
Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 3035.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance vacating a certain portion of Eighth Street
in the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of commissioners.
A petition was presented asking that the incandescent
light at the corner of Park and Thirteenth Streets be
changed to an are light. Same was referred to the City
Manager.
City Engineer submitted plans and specifications and
estimate of cost for the re -curbing, guttering and repavfSng-,
Fifth Street from Walnut Street to Ash Street.
On motilin of Commissioner Chambers same were adopted
and approved by the Board of Commissioners, and the City
Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for the above
named work, bids to be received up to and including Wednes-
day, October 15th, 1924 at 5:00 P. M. Motion adopted.
Commissioner Chambers moved that all bids received
August 11th, 1924 for the purchase of Caterpillar Tractor
be rejected. Motion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
