10-13-1924 Minutes4��5 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR 11EETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. OCTOBER 13th, 1924. Regular Meeting of the Board of commissioners, October 13th, 1924. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett, the roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and City Attorney Norris responded. , The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 6th, 1924, were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance vacating a portion of a certain street in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption t�e roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: ars gett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays (0) The lliayor approved the same and is numbered 3036. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: An ordinance regulating vehicular traffic on certain streets and avenues in the City of Salina, providing for the desig- nation of certain streets and highways and parts thereof as "Arterial Hipways" and defining the same, prohibiting "left- hand turning at intersectio ns and points on certain streets, and repealing a�l ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- flict herewith. On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3037. A petition was recevied asking for the installation of an are light at the corner of Hamilton Street and Fourth Street. Same was referred to the City Manager. A petition was received asking for the construction of a sidewalk on the east side of Baker Street from Walnut Street south. Same was referred to the City Manager. City Manager Layton reported favorably on the petition p king that the incandescent light located at the corner of Park and Thirteenth Streets be changed to an arc light. Same 'to take effect January 1st, 1925. Commissioner Dyar moved that the City contribute y 4.,DD per month to the Americanization Committee instead of $10.00 per month as heretofore. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Dyar, Board of Commissioners adjourned until Wednesday, October 15th, 1924 at 5.00 P. P:S. City Ulerk.
