Acgular T:Teeting of the Board of Commissioners June 9th,
1924. eeting was called to order by T,layor hargett, the roll
was cal"Ied and CommissionersTlargett, Dygr and Chambers and
City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the iegular '`Leeting of Jure 2nd, 1924
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak-
ing an appropriation for the purchase of time certificates of
deposit from the Firemens Relief Fund of the City of Salina,
'lansas. rr
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll
was called and the following. vote was had; Ayes: Hargett,
Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays' (0) The T•layor approved the
same and is numbered 2994.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance vacating a certain part of a certain alley in the
City of Salina, Kansas, formerly constituting the north fif-
teen (15) feet of Lot Thirty-five (35) on Santa Fe A. venue in
the City of Salina, and accepting a deed from the Internation-
al ITarvester Company of America to a tract of land seven (7 )
feet in width, extending east and west along the south side of
the present alley, which was formerly the north fifteen (15)
feet of Lot thirty-six (36) on Fifth Street in the City of
Salina, Kansas. H.
On notion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes : Hargett, and
Chambers (2 ) Nays: 0) Commissioner Dyar not voting, The
Tlayor approved the same and is numbered 2995.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the material to be used
and letting a contract for the curbing and guttering of the
east side of Ninth Street in the City of Salina, jLansas from
the south line of Jewell Avenue to the north line of Cloud
Street in said City. tr
On motion of Corwalssioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first 'reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to
be used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering,
e..cavating, grading and paving Claflin Avenue in the City of
'alina, Kansas from the west line of highland <lvenue to the
east line of Ninth Street in said City.
On motion of Coraiissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Comrissioners .
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to
be used and letting a contract for the excavating, grading and
paving of all of the unpaved portion of Santa _Fe 13venue in the
City of SalinaI ILansas in the center of said Santa Fe i venue
as now occupied by the tracks ofLthe Salina Street Ilailviay
Company, from the south line of rr eloit Avenue thence south
to Claflin j'svenue in said City.
On motion of Cor�miss ioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A petition was received asking for the re -curbing and
re -guttering of Fifth Street from the north line of 'Jalnut
Street to the south line of ish Street in the City of Salina.,
Kansas.
On ;motion of Commissioner Chambers same eras referred to
the City "anager.

A vote of thanks was received from the L aEles Lodge of
the City of Salina, Kansas, commenting the City officials and
other organizations for the treatment received at their recent
convention.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was ordered filed.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers Board of Corvniss .oners
adjourned.
