Regular i4eeting of the Board of Commissioners '`lay 19th, ,
1924. Meeting was called to order by Acting l ayor Dyar, the
roll was called and Commissioners 15yar"&hd Chambers and City
Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Hargett absent.
The minutes of the `regular 11`ieeting of May 12th, 19249
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak-
ing appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Chambers and
Dyar (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. The ayor
approved the same and is numbered 2976.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving Claf_lin Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas
from the west line of highland Avenue to the east line of 1'4inth
Street in said City, and providing for the cost thereof, how
the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes : Chambers and
Dyar (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. The Acting
Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2977.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
An ordinance providing for the excavating, grading and paving of
all of the unpaved portion of "anta Fe venue in the City of
Salina,
Kansas in the center of said Santa,Fe "venue as now oc-
cur--iedby the tracks of the Salina Street j`ailwzy Company from
the south line of Beloit ''venue thence south to Claflin Avente
therein, providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be
assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was
read and adopted b7 sections and on its final adoption the roll
was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dyar and
Chambers (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. The
Acting I1ayor approved the same and is numbered 2978.
An ordinance ,,Sas introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering of east
side of Ninth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the
south line of Jewell "venue to the north line of Cloud Street
in said City, and providing for the cost thereof, how tht same
shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll
was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dyar and
Chambers (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. The
Acting Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2979.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving Eleventh Street in said City from the south
line of Morrison Avenue -to the north line of ashingt on Avenue
therein, and relating to and providing for the collection and
payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing,uttering, excavating,
grading and paving Eleventh Street in said Uity from the north
line of dashington revenue to the north line of Prescott Avenue
therein, and relating to and providing for the collection and pay-
ment of such assessments,
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving Front Street in said City from the north line
of �1m Street to the south line of Pine Street therein, and
relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such
assessments.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of excavating, grading, curbing,
guttering and paving Putnam Avenue in said city from the south
line of South Street to the north line of Morrison Avenue therein,
and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of
such assessments.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An Ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
An ordinance regulating the business of plumbing drainage and
ventilation of buildings and repealing Ordinance umber 1618 and
Ordinance Number 2374 and all other ordinances or parts thereof
in conflict with this ordinance.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Chambers and Dyar
(2) bays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. Acting I'�Iayor approvel
the same and is numbered 2980.
A petition was received asking for the construction of a
sidgwalk on the west side of Ninth Street and east and west sides
of Tenth Street from Crayford Avenue to Fro§'t Street. Same was
referred to the City Manager.
A petition was received asking for the construction of a
sidewalk on the north side of Z'loodland A venue from Santa Fe
Avenue to Ninth Street. Same was referred to the City Manager.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
City I,Ianager.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
