Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett the roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the 4gular Meeting of March 31st, 1924, were read and approved as read. The following resolution was introduced for second read - ing: BE ITR SOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas that the excavating, grading and paving of all of the unpaved portion of Santa Fe Avenue, 'in the cneter of the street now occupied by the tracks of the Salina Street Railway Company, from the south line of Beloit Avenue, thence south to Claflin Avenue in said City, are each and all improve- ments necessary to be made and done, and be it further resolved that said unpaved portion of Santa Fe avenue be excavated, graded and paved within the limits aforesaid. Hargett, airnan of Board of— Commissioners Commissioners On motion of Commissioner Chambers the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll wad called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The following resolution was introduced for second reading: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas that the curbing and guttering of the East side of Ninth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the Bout line of Jewell venue to the north line of Cloud Street in said City City be and the same is hereby determined to be a necessary improvement, and that said east side of Ninth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas be curbed and guttered within the limits above defined. Same was referred to the City Manager. A petition was received asking for the construction of a sideia.lk on the west side of Ohio Street connecting Iron Avenue with the sidewalk of the two parties signing said petition. Same was refer-Ced to the City Manager. The appraisers reports for the paving of: BELOIT AVENUE FROM Santa Fe to I,Tinthl EIGH`I.'H STREET from Eln to Pine; ELEVENTH STREET from Alorrison to `rlashington; ELEVENTH STREET from Ylashington to Prescott; ELrVENTH STREET from Park to Elm; .11 ELLSo'IORTH AVENUE from Santa Fe to - ighland; FRONT STREET from Elm to fine; HIGHTND AVENUE from Beloit to Republic; IRON AVENUE from Penn to Delaware; 11ORRISON AVENUE from Tenth to Eleventh; Ip ULBE?RY STREET from Fifth to Second; PUTNAI,ri AVENUE from South to P?orrison; SUNSET DRIVE from Ninth to Highland Circle; SPRUCE STRUT from Baker to Phillips; SANTA FE AVENUE from a point 200 feet south to South to Beloit; UIIIVERSITY PLACE from Baker Street to i:issouri Pacific Railway Tracks, Also for the curbing and guttering of: THIRD STRi��T. from ITulberry Street south to Smoky Bill River were received and on motion of Commissioner Dyar, Friday, April 11th, 1924 at 5:00 P. M. was designated as a special meeting at whcih time and place the appraisers reports will be taken up and acted upon by the Board of Commissioners and all persons having any complaint to make as to such appraisement can be pres- ent and heard if they so desire, and that the City Clerk give notice in the official City paper as provided by law. An Ordinance was introduced for fif?st reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 3 of Ordinance Number 2947 of the City of Salina, Kansas, entitled, "An ordinance concerning and regulating the moving of houses and other buildings within the City of Salina and through, on, over or across the streets, avenues, alleys and other public thoroughfares thereof; declar- ing certain acts to be misdemeanors and providing penalties for the violation thereof; and repealing Ordinance Number 1118 of the City of Salina, Kansas, and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances of said City in conflict herewith," and repealing said original Section 3." On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the Board of Co.k:issioners. A resolution was presented for first reading approving thelease from the Union Pacific,Railroad Company for the use of a portion of right -of -gray for street purposes. On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the Board of Co,,vnissioners. City Manager Layton suggested that the viayor designate the week from April 14th to 19th as "Clean Up" ''feel , and on motion of Commissioner Dyar the recommendation was adopted. On motion of Commissioner Dyar, Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk. _
