Regular I'leeting of the Board of Commissioners, March 31st,
1924. Fleeting was called to order by 11ayor Hargett the roll was
called and Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and City
Attorney Ijorris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 24th, 19249
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "Ap ordira nce mak-
ing appropriations ofor miscellaneous purposes.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chamb-
ers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered
2961.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar
and Chambers (3) guys • (0) The T, ayor approved the same and is
numbered 2962.
A resolution was introduced for first reading providing
for the paving of street car tracks on Santa Fe Avenue from
Beloit Avenue to Claflin Avenue.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading providing
for the curbing and guttering of the east side of jinth 6treet
from Jewell Avenue to Cloud Street.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers sante was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An agreement was presented between the Salina ''later Works
Company and The City of Oalina in reference to City advancing
X15,000 on water account.
On motion, Mayor was authorized to sign said agreement.
A petition was received asking for the curbing, guttering
and paving of Claflin Avenue from Highland Avenue to Ninth Street.
Same was referred to the ity Manager.
A resolution was presented for first reading providing
for the curbing, guttering and paving of Claflin Avenue from
Highland. z.venue to Ninth Street.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A petition was received asking for the location of a fill-
ing station at the corenr of Twelfth Street and Bishop Street.
On motion, request was granted subject to the approval of
the City Planning Commission.
Resignation of Mrs. G. M. Vlatson as a member of the City
Planning Commission was received, and on motion of Commission
same was accepted.
Mayor Hargett submitted the name of Miss 11,aude rrescott as
a member of the City Planning Commission to full vacancy by reason
of 'Mrs. Vlatson's resignation.

Connunication dated rarch}1st, 1924, subject matter of
which is "Proposal for Park Driveway through Wightt s Addition "
from J. E. Putnam was presented to the Board of Commissioners.
The proposal is as follows:
"I will endeavor to procure conveyance to the City of
alina for park purposes only. All of that portion of Lot "A"
in Viightts Addition lying north and gest of a straight line
commencing at a point on the north line at the viest end of
alley north of Block 1 and running in a straight line in a
northeasterly direction to a point on the west line at the
north end of alley, west of Block 2 of said addition, in con-
sideration that said property be opened improved and maintained,
perpetually by the City of Salina sa a Park driveway.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the proposition was accept-
ed.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
