03-24-1924 MinutesCOT:II;IISSIOYERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR I:- STING. C OAM:ZISS IONERS ROOD, SA LINA, KANSAS. MaIRCH 24th, 1924. Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners !'`arch 24th, 1924. Meeting was called to order by Mayor nargett the roll was called and commissioners Hargett, Dyat and Chambers respond- ed. City Attorney Norris absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 17th, 19249 were read and approved as read. J. 0. Vilson appeared before the Board of Commissioners and talked on proposed advance in telephone rates. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak- ing an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2960. A contract was presented between the City of Salina and Salina Municipal Gf Club, renewing lease from April 1st 1924 to April 1st, 192k. On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was approved and ordered filed. City Manager Layton submitted a report recommending the installation of an are light at the corner of Ninth and Wilson Streets. On motion of Commissioner Dyar recommendation was adopted as read. C. P. Barrington filed his ldai�tenance, rerformance and Statuatory Bonds, with the Maryland asualty Company as surety, for the paving of street car tracks on Iron avenue from Fenn Avenue to '�elaware Street; and on Santa Re Avenue from a point 230 feet south of South Street to Beloit Avenue, under contract dated Yarch 18th, 1924. On motion, same were accepted and approved subject to the approval of the City Attorney. A remonstrance was received protesting agaipst�ythe curbing, guttering, and paving of Grand Avenue from Santa e venue to Twelfth Street. Same eras re erred to the CIty Engineer. A petition was received asking for the location of a Filling Station at the corner of Santa Fe Avenue and Otis Avenue. Same was referred to the City Planning Commission. A petition was received asking for the extension of water mains beginning at the intersection of-1twelfth Street and r•rescott Avenue, thence west on Prescott to Phillips; thence south on Phillips to Crawford; also from a point beginning at Phillils and Charles, thence west on Charles to Montrose .avenue: Game was referred to the City Manager.
