Regular I''ieeting of the Board of Commissioner -s February
11th, 1924. i.'eeting was called to order by !yIayor Hargett, the
roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the iiegular 1'1eeting of January 28th, 1924
and the Adjourned Meeting of February 6th, 1924 were read and ap-
proved as read.
Commissioner Dyar moved that the action of the Board of
Commissioners taken at the meeting of February 6th, 1924, ac-
cepting the bid of C. P. Barrington for the construction of
certain paving in Salina, Kansas, to be reconsidered, and that
the paving of than portion of the center of Santa Fe avenue
occupied by the street car tracks of the Salina Street "ailway
Company from a point 230 feet south of South Street to the
north line of Beloit Avenue, and that part of the center of
Iron Avenue occupied by the tracks of the Salina Street 11ailway
Company from the east line of Penn Street to the west line of
Delaware Avenue be eliminated from consideration at this time
and that the bid of said C. r. Barrington for the paving of all
of the r emain.ging streets under consideration with the exception
of the two streets herein mentioned be accepted in accordance
with the written proposal of said C. P. Barrington as made on
February 6th, 1924. Motion adopted.
The following resolution %vas introduced for second reading:

duly adopted by the Mayor and Council of Salina, Kansas, the
sum of One Thousand (4?1,000.00) Dollars was placed in the
hands of the City Clerk as a Hevolving Fund. to be used for the
payment of Street Department employees weekly, and for other
emergency claims that might arise, 110ri TH-EMEFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City
of Salina, Kansas that said One Thousand (�„,1,000.00) Dollars
in the hands of the City Clerk be by him turned back to the
City Treasurer taking his receipt for same and place same in
the Sinking Fund.
Introduced for first reading, February 6th, 1924.
Adopted and approved -------- February 11th, 1924.

on motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on it -s final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chamb-
ers (3) Nays: 0) The ilayor approved the same and is numbered
2921.
Commissioner Dyar moved that the rutnam. Investment Company
be designated as one of the City depositories. I1Iotion adopted.

Commissioner Chambers moved that the resolution be adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the
following Note was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3)

An Ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinange mak-
ing an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim.
On motion of Commissloner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar
Nays: approved the same and

An Ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak-
ing an appropriation for the purchase of time certificates of

deposit from the Sinking Fund of the City of Salina, Kansas.
on motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on it -s final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chamb-
ers (3) Nays: 0) The ilayor approved the same and is numbered
2921.
Commissioner Dyar moved that the rutnam. Investment Company

An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance repealing Ordinance Dumber 2894 passed and
approved November 26th, 1923, entitled, it ordinance providing
for the excavating, grading and paving of all of the unpaved
portion of Banta Fe Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas in
the center of said Santa Fe Avenue as now occupied by the
tracks of the Salina Street Railway Company, from a point
230 fedt south of South Street to the north line of Beloit
Avenue therein, providing for the cost thereof, how the same
shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor,
Commissioner Chambers moved that same be finally
passed and approved on first reading because of emergency,
and on roll call the following vote was had; Ayes. Hargett,
Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 2922.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:

the center of said Iron Avenue occupied by the tracks of

Commissioner .Dyar moved that same be finally passed
and approved on first reading because of emergency and on

and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The 14ayor approved the same
and is numbered 2923.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
""An ordinance providing for the excavating, grading and pav-
ing of all of the unpaved portion of Iron Avenue in the
City of Salina, Kansas, in the center oz sala iron Avenue

from the east line of Penn Avenue to the wrest line of
Delaware Avenue in said City, and providing for the cost
thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of
payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.

"An ordinance providing for the excavating grading and paving
of all of the unpaved portion of Santa Fe avenue in the City
of Salina Kansas in the center of said Santa Fe Avenue as
now occupied by the tracks of the Salina Street iiailway
Company, from a point 230 feet south of South Street to the
north lire of Beloit Avenue therein, providing for the cost
thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of
payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to
be used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, ex-
cavating grading and paving of Beloit avenue in the City of
Salina, �ansas from the west line -of Santa Fe "venue to the
east line of Ninth Street in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled.:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to
be used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering,
excavating, grading and paving of Eleventh Street in the City
of Salina, Kansas from the south line of Tdorrison Avenue to
the north line of 'Jashington Avenue in saic City."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.

"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to
be used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, ex-
cavating,, grading and paving of Eleventh Street in the City of

On motion of Conmiissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to
be used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, ee-
cavating, grading and paving of Eleventh Street in the City of
Salina, Kansas from the north line of Fark treet to the south
line of .Elm Street in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be
used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Eighth Street in the Cite of `'alina, jansas,
from the north line of Emttreet to the south line of Pine 'street
in:�a.id. City."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to
be used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, ex-
cavating grading and paving of Ellsworth Avenue in the City of
Salina, ?iansas from the west line of 6anta Ye venue to the
east line of Highland Avenue in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to
be used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, ex-
cavating, grading and paving of Front Street in the City of
Salina, Kansas from the north line of Elm Street to the south
line of Pine Street in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving r?aterial to
be used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering,
excavating, grading and paving Highland Avenue in the City of
Salina, Kansas feom the south line of p blic `'venue to the
north line of Beloit 'venue in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled*
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be
used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, excavat-
ing, grading and paving Morrison Avenue in the City of Salina,
Kansas from the west line of TentR–Mr—eet to the east line of
Eleventh Street in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same teas referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to
be used and letting a,contraet for the excavating, grading paving
Mulberry Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the east line
of Fifth Street to the west line of Second Street in said City,
(except the intersections of Third Street and ]fourth Street which
are already paved."
- On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An Ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be
used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, excavat-
ing, grading and paving of Putnam Avenue in the City of Salina,
Kansas from the north line of Morrison Avenue to the south line
of South Street in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An Ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be
used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, excavat-
ing, grading and paving of Junset Drive in the City of Salina,
I'a.nsas from the west line of' Ninth Street thence west to Highland
Circle,"
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred too
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be
used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, excavat-
ing, grading and paving Spruce Street in tie City of Salina,
xa.nsas from the west line of Baker street to the east line of
Phillips ''treet in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An Ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled.:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the material to be used
and letting a contract for the curbing and guttering of Third
Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south line of
Mulberry Street south to the Smoky Hill River in said City. r'
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Cormissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be
used and letting a contract for the excavating, grading and
paving of Univers Place in the City of Salina, Kansas from the
west line of Baker Street to the east line of Missouri Pacific
Railroad Right-of-way in said City, (except the intersections of
Phillips Street and College "venue which are already paved."
On motion of Commmissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
