02-04-1924 Minutes1 n 1 1 C01,51ISSIONEIIIS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR PTEETING COMITISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. FEBRUARY 4th, 1924. Regular T,Teeting of the Board of Commissioners, February 4th, 1924. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett, the roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 28th, 1924 were read and approved as read. Sealed bids were received for the sale of apprximately 4100 ,000.00 4-3/4 Paving Bonds bearing date of April lst, 1924, to be delivered on or about September 1st, 1924 from: Fidelity National Bank & Trust Co. Kansas City, Teo. Guarantee Title & Trust Co., I'lichita, Kansas. Stern Bros. & Co. Kansas City, Idissouri Prudential Trust Co., Topeka, Kansas. 71. W. 'Matson, Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Dyar moved that the bid of X. 'o,Iatson be accepted and the bonds ordered sold to said V. I. 'Matson in accordance with his written offer subject to the right of the State School Fund Commission to buy the same according to law, and that the Mayor be authorized to sign the acceptance of said offer under such conditions. Tdotion adopted, An Ordinance was introduced entitle : "An ordinance mak- ing appro�riationf for miscellaneous purposes. On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chamb- ers (3) Nays: 0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2917. An Ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for and requiring the cutting and de- struction of all weeds and obnoxious growth of vegetation on lots and pieces of land and in streets and alleys in front of and abutting upon any lot or piece of land within the City of baling, Kansas, and providing for the cutting and destruction of such weeds and obnoxious growth of vegetation by the City and the assessing of the entire cost thereof to the abutting lots and pieces of land." On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2918. An Ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Ordinance Number 2906 entitled, "An ordinance relating to salaries and compensation of officers and employees of the City of Salina, Kansas and repealing Ordinance Number 2425 of the City of Salina, Kansas it and re- pealing such parts of Ordinance Number 2906 as are in conflict herewith. " On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The I'layor approved the same and is numbered 2919. Farmers Union Auditing Association submitted their report of the C:ityts accounts for the year ending December 31st, 1923. On motion of Commissioner Chambers the same was accepted and ordered placed on file. Commissioner Dyar moved that the Board of Commissioners adjourn until VIednesday February 6th 924 at 5 ofclock P.
