Regular 2.2eeting of the Board of Commissioners, December
31st, 1923. 14eeting was called to order by TFiayor Hargett the
roll Zas called aid Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers
responded. City ttorney Norris absent.
The minutes of the negular 12eeting of December 24th,
1923 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar
and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 2909.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinange mak-
ing an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was l -ad; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar
and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 2910.
The following resolution was introduced for second read-
ing:
.=, REAS, the Union Pacific Railroad Company has tendered
to the City of Salina, State of Kansas an agreement providing
for the construction, maintenance and operation of a ten -inch
sanitary sewer pipe line extending over and across the right of
way of the railroad Company at Salina, Saline County, Kansas; and
'.JEER_?AS, it is considered that the best interests of said
City will be subserved by the execution of such agreement;
THIREFORE, BE IT PMSOLVED by the City Commissioners of the
City of Salina, state of Kansas that the terns of said agreement
be and the same are hereby accepted on behalf of said City, that
the Ylayor of said City be hereby authorized, empowered and
directed to execute said agreement on behalf of said City and
that the City Clerk..be'direoted to duly attest the same.

Commissioner Dyar moved that the resolution be adopted
as read and on its f final a doption the roll was c alled and the
following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3)
Nays: (0)
A contract between the Salina P`unicipal Band and the
City of Salina for the year 1924 was presented, and on motion
of Commissioner Dyar same was approved and ordered filed.
Specifications for truck to be used for the street Depart-
ment was presented and approved.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the City Clerk was instruct-
ed to receive bids for the same to be received up to and including
January 7th, 1924 at 4:00 P. M.
City Manager was instructed to receive bids for coal for
the use of the City Building.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
