12-17-1923 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. i COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. DECEMBER 17th, 1923. Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, December 17th, 1923. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett, the roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and Acting City Attorney Buzick responded. City Attorney Norris absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 10th, 1923 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes." On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final'a doption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2904. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2905. An ordinance was introduced for second redding entitled: "An ordinance relating to salaries and compensation of offic- ers and employees of the City of Salina, Kansas and repealing Ordinance Number 2425 of the City of Salina, Kansa.s.rt On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The mayor approved the same and is numbered 2 906. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance repealing Ordinance Number 2595 passed and approved September 11th, 1922, entitled, 'An ordinance speci- fying and selecting the paving material to be used and letting a contract for the excavating, grading and paving of certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating the office of Building Inspector, de- fining the duties thereof and providing for the payment of a salary therefor." On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the Board of Cormtissioners & Commissioner Dyar moved that the City Clerk notify The Salina light, lower &V Gas Company to install two incandes- cent lights on Fourth Street between Iron Avenue and Walnut Street, location to be designated by the City Manager. City Engineer submitted plans and specifications and estimate of cost for the construction of certain sewers in the City of Salina, Kansas, and on motion of Commissioner Dyar same were adopted and approved by the Board of Commission- ers, and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to be received up to and including Monday, January 7th, 1924 at 4:00 P. M. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Dyar, Board of Cormnissioners adjourned until Wednesday, December 19th, 1923 at 5:00 P. M.
