DECEMiiL 10th, 1923.
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, December
10th, 1923. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett the
roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 3rd,
1923 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction of certain servers
in the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar
and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same
and is numbered 2902.
An ordinance was introduced for seconq reading entitled:
"An ordinance granting to Missouri Pacific ailroad Company,
its successors and assigns, the right to construct, maintain
and operate a standard gauge railroad track over and across
Eighth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner 'Dyar the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll
was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett,
Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays (0) The mayor approved the same
and is numbered 2903.
The following resolution was introduced for second
reading:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salina, Kansas that the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving Ei�h_th Street in the City of Salina, Kansas
from the north line or Elm streTE to the south line of Pine
Street in said City, be and the s ame is hereby determined to
be a necessary improvement, and that said Eighth Street in
the City of Salina, Kansas be curbed, guttered, excavated,
graded and paved within the limits above defined.
Introduced for first reading, December 3rd, 1923.
Adopted and approved ........ December 10th, 1923.

On motion of Commissioner Chambers the resolution was
adopted as read and on roll call the following vote was had;
Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0)
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An Ordinance relating to salaries and compensation of officers
and employees of the City of Salina, Kansas, and repealing
Ordinance Number 2425 of the City of Salina, Kansas. ti
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Dyar moved that bids be received for the
proposed paving up to and including February 6th, 1924, and
that the City Clerk advertise the same in the official City paper
as provided by law.
Commissioner Chambers moved that the City advertise for
bids for motor driven "Pick -Up Street Sweeper" up to and includ-
ing December 19th, 1923 at 4:00 P. M. and that the City Clerk
advertise the same in the official City paper as provided by
law.

On motion, I. S. Waite was given permission to farm a
portion of ground in Kenwood Park for the year 1924 that was
used by him during the year 1923.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
