11-19-1923 MinutesRegular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, November
19th, 1923. Meeting was called'to order by Mayor Hargett, the
roll was called and Commissioners Hargett and Chambers and City
Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Dyar absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 12th, 1923
were read and approved as read.
An Ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the follows vote was had; Ayes: Hargett and
Chambers (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner'Dyar absent. The ayor
approved the same and is numbered 2878.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Beloit Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas
from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of ninth
Street in said City, and providing for the cost thereof, how U
the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving Ellsworth Avenue in the City of Salina, Kan-
as from the west line o Sana Ve Ivenue to the east line of
ghland Avenue in said City, and providing for the cost thereof,
how the same sha;l be assessed and the manner of payment there-
for*"
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering excavating,
grading and paving Eleventh Street in the City of Salina.,. Kansas
from the south line or MorrIson venue to the north line of
Washington Avenue in said City, and providing for the cost
thereof, boor the same shall be assessed and the manner of pay.

On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering excavzt ,
grading and paving Eleventh street in the City of Salina, Ka ssas
from the north line of PE;Eee to the south line of Elm
Street in said City, and .providing for the cost thereof, how the
same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Eleventh Street in the City of Salina,
Kansas from the north 1 ne o as ngton Avenue to the north line
of Prescott Avenue in said City, and providing for the cost
thereof, hour the same shall be assessed and the manner of pay-
ment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.

from the north line of tree o the south line of ne Street
in said City, and providing for the cost thereof, how the same

On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving Highland Aven�e in the City of Salina, Kansas
from the south line -or Republic venue to the north line of
Beloit Avenue in said City, and providing for the cost thereof, it
how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor,
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred,to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Morrison Avenue in the City of Salina,
Kansas from the west line of Tent]ireet to the east line of
Eleventh Street in -said City, and providing for the cost thereof,
how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the excavating, grading and paving of
Mulberry Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the east line
.4'irth Street to the west line of Second Street in aid City,
(except the intersections of Third Street and Fourth Street which
are already paved), and providing for the cost thereof how the
same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:

grading and paving of Putnam Avenue in the City of Salina Kansas
from the sguth line of South Streetto the north line of Itorrison
Avenue, in said City, and providing for the cost thereof, 4ow the
same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled*
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Prescott Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas
from the west line of E even ree to the west line of Wrelfth
Street, south, in said City, and providing for the cost thereof,
how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering, excavating,
grading and paving Sunset Drive in the City of Salina, Kansas from
the wes t line of N n ree thence west to Highland Circle in
said City, and providing for the cost thereof how the same shall be
assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.

all of the unpaved portion of Santa Fe venue in the City of Salina,
Kansas in the center of said Sana Ve Avenue as now occupied by
the tracks of the Salina Street Railway Company from a point
230 feet
south of South Street to the north line of Beloit Avenue
therein,
providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be
assessed

On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.

On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Cormnissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, exoauting,
grading and paving of Thirteenth Street in the City of Salina,
Kansas from the north =e of SEa te 8 eet to the south line of
Ash Street in said City, and providing for the cost thereof., how
the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor.

On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering of Third
Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south line of ulberry
ree thence south to the Smoky Hill River in said City, and
providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed
and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first readipg entitled;
"An ordinance providing for the excavating, grading and paving
of University Place in the City of Salina, Kansas from the west
line o` T Baker street to the east line of the Missouri Pacific
Rzilroad Right-of-way in said City, (except the intersections
of Phillips Street and College Avenue which are already paved)
and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be
assessed and the manner of payment therefor.tt
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Cormnissioners.
A petition was received asking for the curbing, guttering
and paving of Eighth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from
Elm Street to 7fne Street. r
On motion, same was referred to the City Manager.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
