COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA.. KANSAS.
NOVEMBER 5th, 1923,
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, November
5th, 1923. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett, the
roll was called and Commissioners Hargett and Chambers responded.
Commissioner Dyar and City Attorney Norris absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 29th, 1923
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett and Chamb-
ers (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dyar absent. The Mayor ap-
proved the same and is numbered 2872.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance vacating a certain part of a certain alley in
the City of Salina, Kansas, established by Ordinance No. 1643 and
authorizing the re -conveyance of the land occupied by that part
of the alley so vacated to The Kansas Ice &C Storage Company."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett and
Chambers (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dyar absent. The Mayor
approved the same and is numbered 2873.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance prohibiting the cutting of any street curbing in
the City of Salina without first securing a permit therefor,
providing for the conditions of such permit and providing for a
penalty for the violation of the terms of this ordinance."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett and
Chambers (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dyar absent. The Mayor
approved the same and is numbered 2874.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance creating a Board of Trustees for the employment of
a Salina Municipal Band, for the handling of funds known as
"The Municipal Band Fund" and providing for the appointmert of
the members of such Board of Trustees and defining the duties
thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett and
Chambers (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dyar absent. The Mayor
approved the same and is numbered 2875.
City 14anager, W. A. Layton submitted the name of Albert
Baskerville as Night Fireman, and on motion of Commissioner -
Chambers the appointment was confirmed.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
