OCTOBER 29th, 1923.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, October
29th, 1923. Meeting vias called to order by Taayor Hargett, the
roll was called and Corronissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and
City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the regular 11eeting of October 22nd, 1923
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak-
ing appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ages: Hargett, Dyar and Chamb-
ers (3) Nays: (0) The 1,dayor approved the same and is numbered
2868.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the purchase of time certificates of deposit
from the Sinking Fund of the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and
Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 2869.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance granting to Union Pacific tLailroad Company, its
successors and assigns, the right: to construct, maintain and
ope,ate a standard gauge railroad track over and across Third
Street and Elm Str eet, and through the alley in the block bounded
by Second, Ash, Third and Elm Streets in the City of Salina,
Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the followin vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chamb-
ers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered
2870.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance granting to T.Tissouri Pacific Lailroad Company, its
successors and assigns the right to construct, maintain and
operate a standard gauge railroad trach over and across ITinth
Street in the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and
Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved. the same and is
numbered 2871.
An ordinance was introduced for first reaading entitled:
"An ordinance prohibiting the cutting of any street curbing in
the City of Salina without first securing a permit therefor,
providing for the conditions of such permit and providing Hfor a
penalty for the violation of the terms of this ordinance.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance w<c�s introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance vacating a certain part of a certain alley in the
City of Salina, Kansas, established by Ordinance No. 1643, and
authorizing the re -conveyance of the land occupied by that part
of the alley so vacated to the Lee Hardware Company.'
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same lige s referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
