OCTOBER 8th, 1923.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salina, Kansas, October 8th, 1923. meeting was called
to order by Mayor Hargett, the roll was called and Commis-
sioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and City Attorney Norris
responded.
The minutes of the Regular 11eeting of October lst , 1923
were read and approved as read.
,in ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction of certain side-
walks in the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar
and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same
and is numbered 2864.
The following resolution was introduced for second read-
ing:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salina, Kansas that the construction of an eight
(8) inch sanitary sewer lateral in Lateral Sewer District
Number 8-C heretofore established and defined by ordinances,
is an improvement necessary to be made and done, and that
said sewer lateral shall extend in said lateral sewer district
between the following limits and bounds along the following
course:
Commencing at the present manhole at the
intersection of Thirteenth Street and
State Street running thence north 400
feet. Manholes as designated on plans.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all the expense
and cost of constructing said sewer lateral be paid by the
levy of a special assessment upon the lots and parcels of
land within said lateral sewer district No. 8-C as provided
by law.

On motion of Commissioner Chambers the resolution was
adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and
Chambers (3) Nays: (0)
The following resolution was introduced for second
reading:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salina, Kansas, that the construction of an eight
(8) inch sanitary sewer lateral in Lateral Sewer Jjjstricts
numbered 12-F and 6-G heretofore established and defined by
ordinances, is an improvement necessary to be made and done,
and that said sewer lateral shall extend in sald lateral
shall extend in said lateral sewer district between the fol-
lowing limits and bounds along the following course:
Commeaicing at the present manhole at
the intersection of Ninth Street and
Republic Avenue, running thence west
to Highland Circle.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all the cost and expense
of constructing said sexier lateral be paid by the levy cf a
special assessment upon the lots and parcels of land within
said lateral sewer districts 12-F and 6-G, as provided by
law.

Hanholes as designated on plans.
AND BE IT FURTIER RLSOLVED that; all the cost and
expense of constructing said sewer lateral be paid by the levy
of a special assessment upon the lots and parcels of land
within said lateral Sevier District No. 13-F as provided by
law.

of constructing said sewer lateral be paid by the levy of a
special assessment upon the lots and parcels of land within

shall extend in said lateral sexier district between the follow-
ing limits and bounds along the following course:
Commencing at the present manhole
at the intersection of Ninth Street
and Sunset Drive, running thence
west on Sunset Drive 900 feet.
Manholes as designated on q)lans.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all the cost and
expense of constructing said sewer lateral be paid by the levy
of a special assessment upon the lots and parcels of land with-
in said lateral sewer district No. 4-G as provided by law.

provement necessary to be made and done, and that said sewer
latel•al shall extend in said sewer lateral district between the
following limits and bounds along the following course:
Commencing at the present manhole
in alley between Ellsworth Avenue
and Jewell Avenue, running east to
Osborne Street 600 feet. Tianholes
as designated on plans.
AND BE IT FURTHE''R RESOLVED that all the cost and
expense of constructing said sewer lateral be paid by the levy -
of a special assessment upon the lots and parcels of land with-
in said lateral sewer district No. 5-G, as provided by law.

A petition was presented asking for the paving of the
street car tracks on Santa Fe Avenue from Bond Street to Wilson.
Street.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was ordered
filed..
A resolution was introduced for first reading providing
for the paving of the street car tracks on Santa Fe Avenue from
Bond Street to, Wilson Street.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A resolution eras introduced for first reading providing
for the paving of the street car tracks on Santa Fe Avenue from
'r,lilson Street to Republic Avenue.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading providing
for the paving of the street car tracks on Santa Fe Avenue from
Republic Avenue to Beloit Avenue.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance granting to Union Pacific nailroad Company, its
successors and assigns, the right to construct, maintain and
operate a standard guage railroad track over and across Elm
Street in the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
D. G. Stack appeared before the Board of Commissioners
and asked for a special permit to construct a Filling Station
at the northeast corner of Ash Street and Eighth Street.
On motion ,of Commissioner Dyar, special. permit w.zs
granted.
Architect, Chas. VC. Shaver, submitted a proposition of
installing aisle lights in the Memorial Hall and submitted
bids on the same.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the bid of F. A. Lepper
for 0183.75 was accepted.
Architect Chas. W. Shaver, also presented correspondence
relating to the installation of seven (7) additional chairs
in the Memorial Hall.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar, Mr. Shaver was instructed
to purchase seven (7) additional chairs from the American Seat-
ing Company at 05.04 F. 0. B. Chicago.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
