JULY 23rd, 1923. -
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July 23rd,
1923. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett the roll
was called and Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and
City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 16th, 1923 were
read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds
of the City of Salina, Kansas in the sum of X5,185.00 to pay
the costs of building and constructing certain lateral sewers
in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and
Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 2831.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds
of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $1085.26 to pay the
cost of building and constructing a certain storm sewer, manholes
and catchbasins in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and
adopted by sectims and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had.: Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chamb-
ers (3) Nays: (0) The..Maydr approved the same and is numbered
2832.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance defining certain misdemeanors and providing for
the punishment of the same . rr
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
Mayor Hargett appointed Chas. W. 'haver to serve as a member
of the City Planning Commission to take the place of C. R. Cravens
who resigned.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the appointment arras con-
firmed.
City Manager, W. A. Layton, appointed Guy S. Richards as
Desk Sergeant.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the appointment was eon -
firmed.
The proposed budget for the year 1924 was introduced for
first reading.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was placed on file.
City Manager, W. A. Layton submitted several recommenda-
tions to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was placed on file.
A petition was presented asking i:'or the extension of water
mains on Eighth Street from Lincoln Avenue to Grand-',Trenue.
On motion, same was referred to the City Manager.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar, Board of Commissioners adjourned.
