COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
JUNE 18th, 1923,
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, June 18th,
1923. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Dyar, the roll
waa called and Commissioners Dyar and Chambers and City Attorney
Buzick responded. Commissioner Hargett absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 11th, 1923 were
read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes. 11
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was ca led
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dyar and Chambers (2
Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. Acting Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 2802.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making

On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dyar and Chambers (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. Acting Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 2803.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be
used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving Minneapolis Avenue in the City of Salina, Kan-
sas from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of
Highland Avenue in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be
used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving Phillips Street in the City of Salina., 4ansas
from the north line of Ash3U—Re—e——to the south line of Park Street
in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving.material to be
used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving Wilson Street in the City of Salina, Kansas,
from the west line of Highla—n-d--Tvenue to the east line of Ninth
Street in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving Crawford Avenue in said City from the west
line of Tenth Street o the west line of Ninth Street thereinand
relating to 4nd providing for the collection and payment of such
assessments.
An
ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be
used and
letting a contract for
the excavating, grading park -

curbing,
and paving Ash Street
in the City of Salina, from
the west
line of Oakdale Avenue
to the west line of Penn Avenue
in said City."
On
motion of Commissioner
Chambers same was referred to the
Board of
Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be
used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving Minneapolis Avenue in the City of Salina, Kan-

Highland Avenue in said City."

vating, grading and paving Fourth Street in said City from the
north line of South Street to the to exsection of said street
and the Smoky Hill River south of the Iron Avenue Bridge in
said City, and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading providing
for the curbing, guttering, excavating, grading and paving
Ellsworth Avenue from Santa Fe Avenue to Highland Avenue.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading providing
for the curbing, guttering, excavating, grading and paving
Front Street from Elm Street to Pine Street.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
Petitions were received asking for the curbing, guttering,
excavating, grading and paving of:
Sunset Drive from Ninth Street to Highland Circle,
Thirteenth Street from State Street to Ash Street.
On motion, same were referred to the City Manager.
A petition was received asking for the location of an
arc light on College Avenue between Elm Street and Ash Street.
On motion, same was referred to the City Manager.
City Engineer submitted revised estimate of cost for the
changing of curbs at certain street intersections in the
City of Salina, Kansas.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was adopted
by the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was instruct-
ed to advertise for bids to be received up to and including
Monday, June 25th, 1923 at 5:00 P. M.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commission-
ers adjourned.
