06-11-1923 MinutesCOMMS SIGNERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR METING. COMMISS IONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JUNE 11th, 1923. — Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, June 11th, 1923. Meeting wase alled to order by Acting Mayor Dyar, the roll was called and Commissioners Dyar and Chambers and City Attorney Buzick responded. Commissioner Hargett absent. -The minutes of the . Regular Meeting of June 4th, 1923 were read and approved as read. An Ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance regulating the sale of gasoline upon public streets and thoroughfares within the fire limits of the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dyar and Chambers (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2800. An Ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance regulating the sale of gasoline from curb fill- ing station within the fire limits of the City of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dyar and Chambers (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2801. Petition were received asking for the curbing, guttering, excavating, grading and paving of: Ellsworth Avenue from Santa Fe Avenue to Highland Avenue; kyont Streetrom Elm Street to Pine Street. Same were referred to the City Manager. Bids were received for the paving of certain streets as advertised for from: M. R. Amerman, S. P. Lyon. Commissioner Chambers moved that the bid of M. R. Amerman be accepted for vitrified vertical fiber brick with asphalt filler at $3.18 per square yard9 and that the certified check of S. P. Lyon be returned. Motion adopted. Bids were received for the changing of certain curb inter- sections as follows: M. R. Amerman, S. P. Lyon, Bete Ahlstedt. Commissioner Chambers moved that all bids be rejected as the same were higher than the City Engineer's estimate for such work. Acting Mayor Dyar, appointed W. S. Frey, Chas. J. Peck and Wm. Mair as appraisers to appraise the property liable to special assessment for the paving of: ASH STREET from Oakdale Avenue to Penn Avenue, MINNEAPOLIS AVENUE from Santa Fe to Highland, PHILLIPS STREET from Park to Ash Streets, WILSON STREET from Highland to Ninth. On motion of Commissioner Chambers the Appointments were confirmed. On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk.
