regular ;ieetinr; of the Board of Commissioners, May 14th,
1923. Meeting was called to order by ITayor Hargett, the roll
was called and Commissioners Hargett, D-yar and Chambers and
City Attorney Buzick responded.
The minutes of the regular Illeeting of I'ay 7th, 1923, wren°e
read. and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to waste and offensive matter, providing
for the care and disposal. thereof - and repealing Ordinance
Number 2241 of the City of Salina, Kansas."

Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was i.ntrodu.ced for first reading; entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning; and. levying special
assessrrients on certain lots and pieces of ground in the U%i_ty
of Salina., Kansas to pay the cost of excavating, grading, curbing,
guttering, and paving College venue in said City from the
north line of Spruce _b7ii,�—ee-t to--�e nnorth line of South 6treet
therein, and relating to and providing for the col.:lectior and
patment of such assessments."
On motion of Comxniss ioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board. of C onmi s s i, orl e --s .
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying%, special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to ray the cost of excavating, grading;, curbing,
guttering and -paving College Avenue in said City from the south
line of I,Rlnut Street to t -j.e north line of Spruce Street
therein, and relating to and providing; for the collection and
payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Comrn_issioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"!,n ordinance relating; to and apportioning; an' levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of excavating, grading,
curbing, guttering and laving ?lm Street in said. Git Jr f =om
the wrest line of Ninth Street to _e eat line of College
Avenue therein (except the intersections of `twelfth Street and
Thirteenth Street, which are already paved) , and relating to
and providing for the collection and payment of such asses�-
ments."

A petition was presented asking, for the curbing, gutter-
ing; and paving; of Putnam :':venue from South Street to IMorri son
Avenue. Same ,:Ias z�erre o the City P:Ianager.
A petition eras presented asking for the curbing, gutter-
ing and paving; of 0.eventh Street from Morrison Avenue to
Ciashington A.renue. Same v.as rel erred to the CitytIanager.
A petition was presented asking for the construction of
a sidevialk on Charles Street from Montrose Avenue to I-hil.lips
Street. Same was referred. to the City i,.Ianag;er.
t'elfare Board reported. favorably on the application of
Geo. r:?cCulli ck, asking for a license to operate a pool ha1.1 in
the City of Salina, Ka isas.
`l"Iie matter of the official City printing was discussed
by the Board of Commissioners, and on motion of Commissioner
Chambers same was let to the two daily papers of Salina I Isan-
sas to -writ: Salina UVening Journal and Salina Daily Union.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commission-
ers adjourned.
