Regular 1-leeting of the Board of Commissioners, tipril
30th, 1923. Meeting was called to order by 1,Jayor Hargett, the
roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers
and Acting City Attorney Norris responded. City tittorney Buzick
absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 23rd, 1.923;
Special eeting of April 27th, 1923 and Adjourned Keeting of
April 27th, 1923 were read and approved as read'..
An ordinance wms introduced entitled: "An ordinance
creating and establishing Lateral Sewer District Number 7-C in
the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was passed
and approved and at this meeting because of public emergency
making the same necessary, and on roll call motion was adopted
by the following vote; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3)
:Jays: (0) The I:iayor approved the same and is numbered 2762.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote w,3s had: Ayes. Hargett, Dyar
and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The 4yor approved the same and
is numbered 2763.
A resolution was introduced for first reading providing
for the construction of an eight inch sewer on Park atreet
from lark Street to Ash Street.
On motion of Commissioner Dia r, same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance 'relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina', Kansas to pay the cost of excavating, grading and
paving Ash Street from the east line of Penn Avenue to the
west ?_ine, of_0T10—Street in said City, and relating to and
providing for the collection and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Cornniss loners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing, guttering, excavat-
ing, grading and paving Beloit Avenue in the City of Salina,
Kansas from the east line o Santa e Avenue to the west line of
the Mclherson Branch Railroad Dight of flay of the Union Pacific
Railroad Company in said City, and relating to and providing for
the collection and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the -City
of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing, guttering, excavat-
ing, grading and paving Cedar Street from the west line of
Baker Street to the east line of PHillips Street in said City,
and relating to and providing; for the collection and payment of
such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same wws referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing, guttering,
excavating, grading and paving Gpsum Avenue in said City
from the east line of Front Street -to the east line of
Columbia Avenue therein, and relating; to and providing for the
collection and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning; and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing, guttering, ex-
cavating, grading and paving Penn Avenue in said City from
the north line of Ash Street to the sou line of Elm Street
therein, and relating to and providing for the collection and
payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
A petition was received asking for the curbing, gut-
tering!, excavating, grading and paving Eleventh Street from
Park Street to Elm Street. Same was referred to the City
Manager.
A petition was received asking for the curbing and
guttering of Third Street from Mulberry Street, south to
the Smoky Hill RiveT�r. —dame was referred to the City Manager.
A petition was received asking for the curbing, gutter-
ing, excavating, grading and paving of Morrison ','.venue from
Tenth Street to Eleventh Street. Same was referred to the
City Manager.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar, Board of Commissioner's
adjourned.
