04-06-1923 Minutes212 COWISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, ADJOURNED Y71ETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. APRIL 6th, 1923. -- Adjourned meeting of the Board of Commissioners, April 6th2 1923. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar, the roll was called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and Hargett and City Attorney Buzick responded. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, exca- vating, grading and paving of Twelfth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south line orSoutY'Street to the north line of Morrison Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2744. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, excavating, grading and paving of Ninth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south line cf Wilso treet to the north line of Republic Avenue in said City." On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved thes ame and is numbered 2745. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sewers in the City of Salina, Kansas, letting the contract therefor and providing for the payment of the cost of the same." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2746. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the construxtion of a certain storm sewer in the City of Salina, Kansas, letting the contract therefor and providing for the payment of the cost thereof. it On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and.is numbered 2747. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance establishing and creating a benefit district by reason of the opening of Sherman Street in the City of Salina, Kansas between Crawford Street and Republic Avenue in said City, by reason of the opening of Franklin Street in said City between Sherman Street and Ninth Street therein, by reason of the opening and extending of Tenth Street in said City between Frost Street and Republic Avenue therein, by reason of the opening of r'rost Street in said City between Sherman Street and Ninth Street therein, by reason of the widening of Republic Avenue in said City between Ninth Street and "'herman Street therein, and by reason of the opening and extending of Eleventh Street between Crawford Street and Republic Avenue therein, and providing for and fixing the boundaries of such benefit district. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll wasc alled and the following vote was had; Ayes: Camp- bell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2748. 1 1 1 1 1 A contract between the City of Salina and Salina Munici- pal Golf Links was presented and approved, and on motion of Commissioner Hargett the Mayor was authorized to sign said contract. The Performance Bond and Maintenance Bond of M. R. Amer- man for the pa wing of certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas was presented, and on motion of Commissioner Campbell same was approved subject to the principal signing the same. A special permit was granted to The Shirley Building Company to construct a building on North Fifth Street. On motion of Commissioner Hargett, Board of Commis- sioners adjourned until April 7th, 1923 at one o'clock P. M. _2� city Clerk-, _2�
