COIF-'ISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR ITETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
APRIL 3rd, 1923.
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, April 3rd,
1923. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar the roll
was called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and Aargett and
City Attorney Buzick responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 26th, 1923
and the Adjourned Meeting of March 29th, 1923, were read and
approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: In ordinance mak-
ing appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar
and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 2739.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds
of the City of Salina, Kansas in the sum of X6524.56 to pay the
the cost bf improving a certain street in said City.n
On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll
was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell,
Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same
and is numbered 2740.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sewer
service pipes in the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar
and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Payor approved the same and
is numbered 2741.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction of certain water
service pipes in the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was ad; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar
and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The ayor approved the same and
is numbered 2742.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction of certain gas
service pipes in the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar
and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 2743.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction of a certain storm
sewer in the City of Salina, Kansas, letting the contract there-
for and providing for the payment of the cost thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sewers in
the City of Salina, Kansas, letting the contract therefor and
providing for the payment of the cost of the same."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance establishing and creating a Benefit District by
reason of the opening of Sherman Street in the City of Salina,
Kansas between Crawford Street and Republic Avenue in said City,
by reason of the opening of Franklin Street in said City between
Sherman Street and Ninth Street therein, by reason of the open-
ing and extending of Tenth Street in said City between Frost
Street and Republic Avenue therein, by reason of the opening of
Frost Street in said City between Sherman Street and Ninth Street
therein, by reason of the widening of 9treet
epublic Avenue in said
City between Ninth Street and Sherman therein, and by
reason of the opening and extending of Eleventh Street between
Crawford Street and Republic Avenue therein, and providing for
and fixing the boundaries of such Benefit District."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be
used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Twelfth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas
from the south line of South t to the north line of Morrison
Avenue in said City.
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be
used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Ninth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas
from the south line of i son Street to the north line of hepublic

On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction of of certain water
service pipes in the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction it of certain sewer
service pipes in the City of Salina, Kansas.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction of certain gas service
pipes in the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A petition was received asking for the extension of water
mains on Wilson Street from Fifth Street to Third Street. Same
was referred to the !City Manager.
A petition was received protesting against the erection of
bill -boards in the vicinity of Elm Street and Phillips Street.
Same was referred to the City Manager.
A resolution was introduced for first reading providing for
the extension of Fourth Street near Iron Avenue.
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Hargett, Board of Commissioners
adjourned until Friday, April 6th, 1923 at five o'clock F. M.
City Clerk.
