COMMISSIONIRS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read
and adoptd by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar
and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 2703.
A bond and application for pool hall license was received
from Jule Me Higgins.
Commissioner Hargett moved that same be granted subject
to the approval of the Welfare Board.
The following communication was received from The Salina
Light, Power & Gas Company:
Salina, Kansas. Feb. 26th, 1923.
The Honorable Board of Commissioners,
of the City of Salina.
Gentlemen:
The Lee Hardware and Lee Mercantile Company of this
City respectfully petition the City Council to grant permis-
sion to build and erect a trick fire proof structure (specifi-
cations and location indicated on attached blue print). This
building is fox, the purpose of supporting transformer equipment
and housing metering and switchboard equipment necessary to
furnish the electric power to both the above companies.

for the installation of certain streets lights in the City of
Salina.

To the Hon. Board of City Commissioners,
Salina, Kansas.
Gentlemen:
I desire to make the following recommendations upon peti-
tions concerning the installation of lights at various points
on streets in the City of Salina.
Are Lights
Intersection of Elm Street and Ohio Street
It it Ellsworth and Fourth Street
it " Baker Street and Spruce Street
it " Jewell Avenue and Ninth Street
North Santa Fe Avenue directly in front of the
M. M. Drenning Lumber Company yards.

Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, February
26th, 1923. Meeting was called to order by Mayor liar, the
roll was called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and Hargett
and City Attorney Buzick responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 19th,
1923, were read and approved as read.
An Ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of excavating, grading and paving
Street Railway Tracks on Santa Fe Avenue from the south line
o ava nI' ut Street o a point 200 feet south of South Street in
said City, and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."

Are light at Hill Drive and Oakdale Avenue to be
removed and replaced with an incendeseent light.
An incandescent street light to be installed
at the entrance of Oakdale Park, or in lieu
thereof two incandescent lifhts with globes
installed at top of the pillars on north side
of entrance to Oakdale Park.
The following petitions are reeeommended to the Commis-
sioners to be refused at this time.
Intersection of Penn Avenue and Gypsum Street.

On motion of Commissioner Hargett, the report was
adopted.
Commissioner Hargett moved that sealed bids be received
on the issue of Paving Bonds, Monday, March 5th, 1923, until
six o'clock P. M.
