FEBRUARY 19th, 1923.
Board of Commissioners met in regular session, "ebruary 19th,
1923. Meeting was called to order by I-Zayor Dyar, the roll was
called and Commissioners Dyar and Hargett responded. Commissioner
Campbell and City Attorney Buzick absent.
The minutes of the Regular ;,Ieeting of February 12th, 1923,
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
• and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dyar and Hargett (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Campbell absent. The 11Iayor approved the
same and is numbered 2699.
An ordinance was introduces! entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its find adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dyar and Hargett (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Campbell absent. The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 2700.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and
adopted bz;r sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dyar and Hargett (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Campbell absent. Mae Id'ayor approved the
same and is numbered 2701.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of
the City of Salina, Kansas in the sum of Y77,132.35 to pay the
cost of improving certain streets in said City."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was rend and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dyar and Hargett (2) Nays:
(0) Commissioner Campbell absent. The Mayor approved the same and
is nii.mbered ,2702 .
The following ordinance was introduced for first reading:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessrients on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to'pay the cost of excavating, grading and paving
Street Railway Tracks on Santa Fe Avenue from the south line of
7alnut S reed"� o� point 200 feet south of South Street in said
City, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment
of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A petition was presented askin7 that Fourth Street between
South Street and '',jalnut Street be paved not to exceed sixteen (16)
feet in width on each side of the railroad tracks.
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
City tanager.
Ietitions were received asking for the location of are Lights
as follows:
At the corner of State Street and College Avenue;
un Baker Street at Cedar Street and Spruce Street;
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
City Manager.

Petitions were received askin^ for the extension of
water mains on:
Second Streit from Iron Avenue north about 300 feet:
Twelfth Street from Prescott Avenue to Charles Street.
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same �ere referred to
the City Tanager.
Petitions were received asking for the construction of
sewer as follois:
Commencing at corner of Eleventh Street and Prescott
Avenue thence west on Prescott Avenue to Twelfth Street thence
south on `twelfth Street to Charles Street.
On :notion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to
the City "Manager.

fications and estimate of cost for the curbing, guttering,

Commissioner Hargett moved that same be accepted and that
the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids to be received
up to and including Wednesday, 1.11arch 7th, 1923 at six otcloek

,Tayor Dyar was instructed to issue a proclamation desig-
nating the week from I'ebruary 26th to f;arch 3rd, 1923 as
"Fire Prevention leek."
On motion of Commissioner Ilargett Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
